INFORMATIVE & FREE WORKSHOPS

Clubs Tasmania are holding the following workshops –

Asthma Educational Sessions (8^th April – 11^th April)

Playing sport and keeping active are important for everyone’s health and well-being, especially for the 1 in 9 people with asthma. If your players have their asthma symptoms under control, it means they won’t have to be sidelined or risk having an asthma flare-up. Make sure your club is asthma smart and come along to an Asthma and First Aid education session by Asthma Australia. Receive a FREE Asthma Emergency Kit for your club. Sessions are for club staff, volunteers, coaches and trainers.

Governance in Clubs (6^th May – 15^th May)

This Governance workshop is more advanced in nature and deals with how the committee demonstrates leadership both within itself and for the broader club community (and indeed the wider community).

The topics have been developed (as has been noted) as a result of the successful series of workshops of the same nature in 2023 and would include:

The Committee and Leadership (including a recap of the roles of committee members)
Building a strong committee
Setting goals and objectives and strategic planning for the club
Effective communication and managing conflict.

Learning Life Through Sport (20^th May – 21^st May)

Learning Life through Sport is a program designed to challenge social norms and inspire people and their communities to bring a new standard of behaviour and respect to sport and life. Learning Life through Sport identifies positive ways to alter the inherited and often unacceptable behaviour of coaches, players, parents and supporters in junior sports.

Committee Leadership in Clubs Workshops (19^th August – 21^st August)

These sessions are designed to strengthen committees, with talking points including knowing your roles within a committee, dealing with conflicts, planning, financials, setting goals and objectives and building a strong committee.
