Changes to Bowls North Conditions Of Play

The Bowls Tasmania Board have implemented a new Affiliation, Clearance and Eligibility to Play Policy, effective from 20 November 2023.  Following receipt of confirmation from Bowls Tasmania that this new policy has been adopted, Bowls Tasmania have advised Bowls North that a change to the current Bowls North Conditions of Play is necessary to comply with this policy.  The Bowls North Board therefore advise the following change to our Conditions of Play, effective from 4 December 2023:

Clause 1.2 of the Bowls North Conditions of Play is to be replaced with the following:

A member of an affiliated club who has paid a capitation fee to BN shall be eligible to participate in BN Championship events and Pennant competitions, providing the member complies with all requirements outlined in the BT Affiliation, Clearance and Eligibility to Play Policy.  This includes any players wishing to participate under BN’s Social Substitute rules (refer COP 3.10).  Confirmation must be received by BN from BT that all required paperwork has been submitted and approved and that all conditions of the BT policy have been met before any player can participate under the policy.  Details and required forms can be sourced from the BT website.

  • Intrastate players (registered with a club in any other region in Tasmania) – Permit to Play Pennant required.
  • Interstate players (registered with any other STA in Australia) – Interstate Player Declaration required.

As noted above, to be eligible to participate players must pay the prescribed capitation fee to Bowls North.  Clubs are to determine their own membership fees for players registering under this policy.
