Memo – Regarding Footwear & Inappropriate Language

 

MEMO – TO ALL BN CLUBS & MEMBERS

It has been brought to the attention of Bowls North Board that several players are flouting the rules regarding bowling attire and footwear.

Several clubs have reported damage to greens from inappropriate footwear being worn by players.

BN Conditions of Play and Law of Sport of Bowls – Crystal Mark 3rd Edition Version 3.1 are as follows and must be adhered to.

1.9    ATTIRE – BASIC RULE

The Bowls Australia Logo Policy (dress regulations) and Approved Footwear and headwear as amended from time to time will apply to all persons in BN Pennant competitions and Championships.

APPENDIX A

A.2 FOOTWEAR

A.2.1 Players, umpires and markers must wear flat-soled (‘heel-less’) footwear

          when they play on the green or act as umpires or markers.

Reports have also been received regarding inappropriate language/swearing by players at Bowls North Pennant games and Championship events.

This is not acceptable behaviour and under BN Code of Conduct action may be taken against offending players if this continues.

Would all Club’s and Match Mangers ensure that all bowlers comply with the above BN Conditions of Play and Law of Sport of Bowls – Crystal Mark 3rd Edition Version 3.1 and be aware that further action can be taken under BN Conditions of Play & Code of Conduct.
